Kickball basic Rules
Field
- Activities will take place on a baseball/ softball field.
- Bases will be 60’ apart in a diamond shape.
- Pitching rubber will be 42’ from home plate.
- Teams will consist of a minimum of 5-9 players depending on turnout.
- Positions may include pitcher, catcher, first base, second base, short stop, third base, left outfield, center outfield, and right outfield.
- Teams will be selected each week based on varying ages, skill levels, and abilities.
- The pitcher will roll up to 3 pitches to a kicker.
- The pitcher will roll pitches that are reasonably easy to kick by the kicker, not too bouncy or fast!
- If the kicker does not kick the ball after 3 pitches, the kicker will kick the ball from a tee.
- The kicker will get up to 3 pitches to kick the ball.
- If the kicker does not kick one of 3 pitches, the kicker will kick the ball off a tee.
- If the kicker kicks two balls foul or out of play, the kicker is out.
- No strike-outs or walks!
- All kicks must be made by foot.
- All kicks must occur at or behind home plate.
- No bunting allowed.
- A kick in front of home plate is called a foul.
- No Sliding or diving is permitted.
- While, running to first base, run through the safety base next to first base.
- The safety base is a base next to the first base that you are allowed to run through.
- There is no infield fly rule.
- No leading off or stealing bases is permitted.
- Runners cannot overrun second or third base.
- Referees and/ or umpires are volunteers that will explain the rules in greater detail and call the rules of the game in the most honest and fair way possible.
- Referees and staff deserve respect and complaining about calls must be limited and in a respectful manner.
- No swearing or abuse of any kind towards staff and volunteers will be tolerated.
